What to do with a loose crown

Why is this happening

The most common cause of this trouble is prolonged wearing of the structure. Over time, dental cement loses its properties and weakens. If a little time has passed since the installation of the prosthesis, in this case, the fault may be poor fastening of the product, an oversight by the doctor, who incorrectly prepared the natural unit.

Another common reason is the consumption of solid foods. When installing a crown, the doctor should warn that such actions can lead to a sad outcome.

How to proceed
If it is not possible to consult a specialist on the same day, buy glue for dentures and replace the crown yourself. The fixative is sold in pharmacies and dental centers.  Before that, the natural unit must be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Please note that this technique will save you for a maximum of 2 days.

If the tooth starts to hurt after peeling off the structure, take an anesthetic and rinse your mouth with an antiseptic. During this period, try to eat warm food with a soft consistency.

In the future, you will need to see a dentist. Depending on the individual characteristics, the patient will be offered two options for the development of events.:

To make and install a new crown.
To re-install the product according to all the requirements.
The first option is unavoidable if the service life of the artificial prosthesis exceeds 5 years. Also, the replacement is carried out in the event that a piece of the structure breaks off.

What not to do
Do not try to use ordinary superglue to fix the product. By doing this, you risk ruining your native tooth and denture, which will lead to additional costs.

If the artificial element has flown off, try to contact a dental clinic as soon as possible. Choose only trusted medical centers to avoid possible future troubles.

Wisdom tooth: should I remove it or leave it?

When a wisdom tooth erupts, it can cause discomfort and pain. And after it has fully grown, two conditions can occur as a result of this: either the new unit causes absolutely no harm or discomfort, or it provokes ailments such as caries, persistent inflammation, malocclusion, and so on.
